To connect and get access to the wireless internet at the International airport of Nursultan Nazarbayev in terminals T1 and T2, you need to follow these steps:

  1. Open the list of available Wi-Fi networks.
  2. Select a network called OpenWiFi_NQZ or OpenWiFi_NQZ1 and click Connect.
  3. After connecting, the authorization page opens and Click “Continue”.
  4. After Reading the terms of service, enter your mobile phone number and click “Send “(the Mobile phone must be enabled, registered in the mobile network and ready to receive SMS).
  5. If you entered your phone number correctly, you will receive an SMS message with the code. Enter the received code on the next page in the appropriate field and click “Connect”.
  6. After completing these steps, you will connect to the network and be able to use the Internet.

Airport security

Pre-flight security  

Pre-flight security check is conducted by the aviation security in the interests of your personal security. Security screening of passengers and their cabin and check-in baggage is mandatory. Passenger refusing to undergo pre-flight security will be denied boarding.

Pre-flight security check of passengers, their cabin and check-in baggage is carried out after check-in, pre-flight security check of passengers traveling on international flights – after customs and border control (passport).

  1. Be ready to present your boarding pass and identity document.
  2. Take off and place in a plastic basket your outer garments, hat, belt, watch and other metal objects. You may be asked to take off your shoes.
  3. Place in your cabin baggage or in the plastic basket mobile phones, lighters, cigarettes, coins, keys, and other metal objects, , separately lay out electronic or electrical devices (for example, personal computers, tablets, etc.).
  4. Place your cabin baggage horizontally on the introscope belt. Do not place your cabin baggage on the belt edge – when activated, the belt may travel in the opposite direction causing you cabin baggage to fall.

If you have no implanted pacemakers, go through the metal detector gate.

Passengers with pacemakers undergo manual (contact) security check without the use of technical and special means.

Please report any such restrictions to the aviation security officer checking your travel documents or when preparing for the pre-flight security check. 

Cabin baggage inspection 

Cabin baggage, as well as check-in baggage, is subject to aviation security restrictions. Please read in advance the list of substances and items prohibited for carriage


Transportation of liquids, aerosols and gels (LAG) on board an aircraft 

LAG, allowed in cabin baggage: 

  • water and other drinks;
  • creams, lotions, oils;
  • perfumes;
  • aerosols;
  • gels, including hair and shower gels;
  • contents of containers under pressure, including shaving foam, other foams and deodorants;
  • pastes, including tooth paste;
  • liquid-solid mixtures;
  • mascara;
  • other substances of similar consistency.

Baby food, medications, and dietary foods may be carried in cabin baggage, in the quantity, needed for flight, but the aviation security officer may ask you for proof that you need them in flight (medical certificate, prescription).

All liquids listed above must: 

  • In the volume of each package, make up MAXIMUM of 100 ml. (liquids in containers with a capacity of more than 100 ml are not accepted for carriage even if the capacity is only partially filled);
  • A container containing LAG must be freely placed in a tightly closed transparent plastic or cellophane bag with a volume of not more than 1 L in size 20.5 x 20.5 cm or 25 x 15 cm;

Responsibility 

Passengers who have been found in possession of dangerous substances and items, whose manufacture, possession, and storage is a criminal offense (weapons, ammunition, explosives, firing devices, explosive devices, narcotics, toxic, poisonous, radioactive substances, etc.), are denied boarding and, together with such substances and items (report and seized substances and items), handed over to the line department of internal affairs at the airport of Astana for further investigation.

The list of substances and items prohibited for carriage 

It is forbidden to carry in cabin baggage: 

  • liquids, aerosols and gels (in containers of more than 100 ml);
  • any weapons and their models;
  • sharp objects;
  • crush and blunt weapons;
  • tools;
  • magnetic materials;
  • stun or shocking devices;
  • radioactive substances;
  • poisonous and toxic substances;
  • compressed and liquefied gases;
  • flammable substances;
  • flammable solids;
  • corrosive, aggressive substances;
  • explosives and objects filled with them;
  • objects labeled as dangerous on their packaging.

Following items and substances are prohibited from carriage: 

  • magnetic materials;
  • shocker devices;
  • radioactive substances;
  • poisonous and toxic substances;
  • compressed and liquefied gases;
  • flammable substances;
  • flammable solids;
  • corrosive, aggressive substances;
  • explosives and objects filled with them;
  • objects labeled as dangerous on their packaging;
  • spare batteries and charging jars;
  • portable electronic smoking devices.
